I am a Professor in the Law School at the University of Melbourne, where I hold the Chair of Intellectual Property.

In the academic year 2018/19, I am a Herbert Smith Freehills Visitor in the Faculty of Law at the University of Cambridge, the Derek Brewer Visiting Fellow at Emmanuel College, Cambridge (Michaelmas Term), and a Visiting Fellow at Wolfson College, Cambridge (Lent and Easter Terms).

I teach various IP subjects – including copyright law, patent law and cyberlaw – and I undertake IP law research. From this site you can access my cyberlaw news, and my recent research publications.

I also do arbitration and mediation of IP disputes, advise on domain name disputes, and conduct commissioned research for governments and international organisations.
